                                          The Hand

The hand that lifted me - When I saw no way out
The hand that held me fast - Not wanting to let go
The hand that held back nothing - Willing to give all it possessed
The hand that showed me love - When I said it didn't exist
The hand that touched and carressed me - Explored my very being - And learned every inch
The hand so soft and gentle - Now anything but
This same hand - gave me black eyes, cuts, and bruises
The hand that showed no mercy - And humiliated me again and again
The hand that one night grasped - Tightly around my throat
The hand that beat me unconscious - And left me for dead
His hand that still haunts my memories - And keeps me in constant fear
The hand that taught me love and hate
Finally taught me how to kill
No, I've never killed anyone, just for the record. I can understand the women in the situation that do though. Even though murder is wrong... I can understand.

So... background on this poem, sorry there won't be any. Is it fiction or nonfiction? Well, like many things I write, it's combination of both. And as usual I won't diferentiate the fiction from the nonfiction... some secrets stay kept.

I know... a poem of mine that doesn't rhyme, unbelievable. Powerful messages can't always rhyme though.

Thanks for reading! :thanks:

I would rather die myself then let my hands or words hurt a woman, even more so of a woman I love. And true love never dies or fades.
